Chapter Overview

Description

Spice Road follows Imani, the youngest Shield in Qalia—an elite warrior-sorcerer bound to the Sahir’s sacred misra Spice. One year after her brother Atheer vanishes, Imani’s sister Amira drags her into the Forbidden Wastes, where they discover Atheer’s hidden base, letters from a rebel leader, and proof the outside world—Alqibah—exists. The revelation fractures everything they’ve been taught: the Council lied, the “cursed” lands are real, and Atheer may still be alive.

To reach him, Imani makes an illegal bargain—binding a djinni named Qayn—then is forced to travel with Taha, the Grand Zahim’s ruthless son. Their mission becomes a gauntlet of monsters, betrayal, and moral collapse as they cross the Swallowing Sands into a colonized kingdom where Harrowlander occupiers execute dissenters, run death pits, and squeeze the Spice Road dry.

In Taeel-Sa, Imani learns Atheer is imprisoned, then discovers a darker truth: Taha was sent not to rescue, but to assassinate. What follows is a desperate prison break, a burning king’s ship, and a final choice that redefines what “duty” means—because saving the Sahir may require saving Alqibah too.
