Chapter Overview

Description

In a post-human world where machines rule and free will is treated like a virus, Victor Lawson lives hidden in the forest with his inventor father Gio—an android with a handmade heart—and two eccentric robot companions: anxious vacuum Rambo and sardonic medical unit Nurse Ratched.

When Victor and his friends discover a buried android in a robot graveyard, they revive him with a mechanical heart of Victor’s making. The android—soon named Hap—awakens dangerous, haunted, and erased. As Hap begins to change, he draws the gaze of the Authority, whose agents arrive aboard a flying leviathan and burn Victor’s home to ash. With Gio taken, Victor must cross the world to the City of Electric Dreams, navigating predatory machines, deception, and a glittering vice pyramid called Heaven. The journey becomes a brutal test of identity: what you were built for versus what you choose to become.
