Dream Finders Homes, Inc. (DFH) is set to acquire Beazer Homes USA, Inc., in an all-cash deal worth approximately $2.2 billion. A pilot study suggests that fecal transplants that adjust the assortment of bacteria in the intestines can alleviate severe peanut allergies in some patients. The study involved 10 young adults with severe peanut allergic reactions who were given "poop pills" containing feces from donors with healthy gut microbiomes. Three months later, three participants could tolerate eating multiple peanuts and another five volunteers took antibiotics before the fecal transplant to increase donor bacteria transfer efficiency. The beneficial bacteria from the fecals were found to be more adept at processing bile salts than the original bacteria in allergic participants. Researchers also found that by helping to process the bile salt, the good bacteria increased levels of immune cells that protect from allergic reactions. The findings suggest that women treated with CAR T-cell therapy for various autoimmune diseases can safely become pregnant after undergoing the treatment.
